Idaho Events You Must Know About

Whether you are visiting Idaho for the first time or are a long time resident, there are plenty of events happening throughout the state. Check out this list of Idaho events to find out what’s going on in the Treasure Valley this year.

Emmett Cherry Festival

Whether you live in Emmett or plan on visiting, the Emmett Cherry Festival is an event you won’t want to miss. This four-day event offers free entertainment, food, and fun for the whole family. Plus, it is free to enter the many contests and activities. This annual celebration is one of the most popular in the region, drawing nearly 55,000 visitors every year.

The Emmett Cherry Festival is one of those events where the best part is catching up with friends and neighbors. Whether you are strolling the expo, enjoying a delicious cherry pie, or checking out the many carnival rides, the Emmett Cherry Festival has something for everyone.

Boise Art in the Park

During the month of September, Art in the Park is returning to Julia Davis Park in downtown Boise. This festival will feature 260 Idaho artists as well as food and music. The event is free to attend. During the event, visitors can purchase art, enjoy live music and food, and take part in hands-on activities for kids.

The Children’s Art Tent, hosted by the Boise Art Museum, will feature a wide variety of art projects and hands-on activities for kids. During the event, the tent will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Sunday.

Boise Holiday Parade

During the holiday season, the city of Boise is filled with events that are fun for the whole family. From the annual Festival of Trees to the Holiday Parade, there is something for everyone. Totally Boise has put together a list of our favorite holiday activities.

The Festival of Trees will be held from November 23-27. This event includes a gala, fashion show, performances by local dancers and choirs, and a visit from Santa.

The Boise Holiday Parade will be held on December 3rd, starting at 10am. There will be local holiday floats, marching bands, and rad cars. This event is free to attend. The parade will be held on a large loop around Cecil D. Andrus Park.

Boise Shakespeare Festival

Founded in 1976 by a group of performers from Boise State University, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival has become a cultural institution for the state of Idaho. Today, the festival produces five plays per season, focusing on plays by Shakespeare and other playwrights. The festival is run by a team of 12 permanent staff members and a board of trustees that is comprised of 44 members.

The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is a professional repertory theatre. The venue produces high quality theater, and a full summer of Shakespeare is produced each year. In addition, the venue provides a year-round education program, including an apprentice program.

Cowboy Poets of Idaho 2022

Located in Elko, Nevada, Cowboy Poets of Idaho is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of western storytelling. As such, it puts on an annual event that draws hundreds of attendees. During the event, attendees will enjoy free entertainment from some of the best cowboy poets in the country. It is also a chance to learn a thing or two about the cowboy life.

Several cowboy poets will take to the stage in the morning and afternoon to test their skills. While the Cowboy Poetry Festival is a no frills affair, the evening shows will have a more refined line up. Several high-profile performers will also be performing. Some will even be invited to participate in a workshop before the show begins.

Boise Holiday Market

During the Christmas season, the City of Boise has plenty to offer. Whether you’re looking for an activity for your family or a night out with friends, there’s something for everyone. You can find the Boise Christmas lights, the holiday market, and even the Boise small business Saturday. These events are not to be missed.

The holiday market is held in conjunction with the Capital City Public Market in downtown Boise. The market has over 150 local businesses, many of them in the food and beverage business. The market is a great place to shop for unique gifts. The market is open on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.

Boise City Days

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Boise is a fun place to experience the culture, art, and music. You can spend the day at one of the many festivals or take in a show at one of the theaters.

The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is a great way to see a world-class play in a unique Boise setting. Five plays are performed throughout the summer and fall. In addition to this, there are several special events, such as readings, exhibits, and performances.

Western Idaho Fair

Located near the capital city of Boise, the Western Idaho Fair is a ten-day event. It is a family-oriented event, with entertainment, competitions, and agricultural displays. It features livestock exhibits, cooking contests, and a crafts competition.

The Western Idaho Fair has been in operation since 1897. It started as the Intermountain Fair, a show that showcased Idaho’s natural resources and domestic manufacturing. It was hosted at the Idaho Agricultural Park, a location that is now known as 21st Street between State and Idaho.
